Final Exams

Today in Globaloria, we had our exam. We had to make a movie in Flash. It had to be about Summer Activities, Coming Back to School, or end of the Year. I chose to do mine on Summer Activities. I uploaded it to the Wiki and put it on my projects page.
I thought I did pretty good on it.
We made it a Flash Movie, so it continuously plays.

3 more days til Summer

Today we worked on uploading our Bunny games to the Game Gallery on the Wiki.
Also we took an end of the year survey for Globaloria.
Tomorrow starts exams. It is going to be a long day, but again only 3 more days til SUMMER!!!

Only a Few More Days Til Summer

This week is catch up week for us. We are trying to keep everything updated.
Today we updated our learning logs, and blog.
Also we are working on our bunny game.
I have not gotten very far on it, but I am going to be working on it.

Final Presentations

Yesterday we presented our final presentations.
I thought that it went really well.
I was very pleased how my team did.
I think that we did a superb job.
I was a little scared about presenting, but it all came out in the end.
We did well after all the interuptions over the intercom, the power going out on the smartboard, and other things. But we all made it through it!!!
I am just glad that that is over.
Now we only have a few days left til Summer.
Everyone did a great job!!!

It's almost time to present :)

Today we worked on our presentations.
My team was not ready to present, but we did finish the Powerpoint. It is uploaded on the Wiki.
I think that tomorrow will go smoothly for everyone. I also think that we have worked really hard this year, and everyone should be proud of themselves!!!!!

Presentations Wednesday

We have been working on getting our Presentations together. Today I worked on updating the Team Page. I was working on the Powerpoint, but I went ahead and let Xavier work on it since I did not think that I could get it done.
I am making sure that the Team Page looks appealing, and make sure it is neat and orderly for the Game Presentation.

Today is finally Friday!!!! :)
We finally finished the Westest. YAY!!
Anyway this week we have been really busy. We have been trying to finish up our games so that we can present them Wednesday!!!!! I started the Powerpoint for our presentation and I uploaded it to the Wiki. I did not get it finished, but Shawn is going to finish it so I will be for sure that it will be ready for Wednesday. Since I am only in this class for half the time of everyone else, it kinda makes it hard to have things finalized by the due date. Also since we have been taking the Westest it has put a damper on our time in this class. We have only met this week like twice or maybe three times at the most. So it has kinda been hard on everyone to hurry and finish things up. We will all have them done though. That is the good part!!!

PowerPoint

Today I started to work on the Powerpoint Presentation for our team.
I got the first screen finished.
I am going to try to have it uploaded to the Wiki whenever I get more progress finished.
I hope everything goes as planned.

New Progress

Today I worked on finding more random objects for our game. The random objects are going to be in the game so the players of the game will know what to recycle and what not to.
Some of the include basketballs, golf balls, and other things.
If the player picks up the random objects then they will lose points. The object is to find all the recyclable materials in a certain amount of time.

Team Progress

Today we presented our games to the class.
We are getting ready to be able to present them to everyone after WESTEST is over. So we are trying to be prepared for that. I think that our game has came along well.
I hope one of the teams can win the laptops.

Update

We still have been working on our game.I finished the Help Screen and the buttons work, thanks to Sarah Nolen. Anyway, we should have our game finished soon.
Today was a good class period. We all worked and uploaded everything we were told to. I am glad that we have tomorrow off for Election Day!!!!!

Help Screen

Today I worked some more on the Help Screen. I already had it done, but I did not know how to add coding to it. Sarah helped me and she emailed me the code. So I will have the help screen complete and ready by the end of the week. Also, I need to work on the text. Everything will be uploaded to the wiki when I am done.
Our progress is going along very well.
We just need to work on our presentation.

Presentations

Yesterday we presented our game demos to the class. My team went first. We have a lot to research and find out in the next few days. I have to research all the chemicals present in the recycable materials that we have in our game. I have to update my projects page, and make sure that eveything is fine and dandy for the presentation.
I did not think that we were prepared for our presentation. We need to go more in depth with our game, and get our point across to the audience, whenever we present it to them.
I need to talk more about our game, and why we came up with it, and just explain it more.
Yesterday I did not think that I was prepared to talk about our game. But I will get better.

Team Work

Today we still worked on our games. We also try to keep everything updated. Our blogs, wikis, and our team pages. We have a lot of work to keep up and do. But we all manage our time and get the job done!!! Good Job everyone!!!
I think that our game is coming along pretty awesome. Shawn and Xavier has been working very hard and they have done a good job. Since this is my first year in this class I have a lot to learn. So I am not on the same level they are, but all classmates have been helping me to learn a lot!! Thanks to everyone!!! Hopefully our game will win the competition. I think all the teams in my class have the capability to win the Stem Competition.

It's.... Monday

Well of course today is Monday. Everyone hates Monday. Well at least I do.
Anyway, we are still working on our games. The progress is speeding up since we have to present them sometime in May. I am looking forward to that date. I can not wait to see what everyone will think of our games. I hope everyone is prepared and ready to beat the mission impossible. Just Joking. We can do it!!!!!

Still Working Hard

We have still been working on the games. Our progress is speeding up a lot. Our team has been working very hard. We still need to do a little bit of work on some things, but other than that we are doing pretty good.

We still have been working on the games.
Our progress has been speeding up a lot.
We have been making the random objects in Flash and uploading them to the Wiki.
Also Shawn and Xavier has been working on adding the actionscript and the coding for the buttons.
Caitlin has made the select screen and uploaded it to the Wiki. Also, she is working on another screen, because the sheep screen that Xavier made didnt turn out right. Also she is cleaning up our team page.
I am going to go and see what all that the team needs me to do for right now.
Our team is working hard and diligently to get the game finished.

Game Progress

Team CHAOS has been working very hard on the game Message in a Bottle. We have made a lot of progress. I think that our game will be very explanatory and help the world see how a little bit of recycling could change the world today. The purpose of this game is to teach everyone about Recycling and how well it can effect the environment. If everyone started recycling, the world would be a whole new place. It would be celaner.
We have uploaded our Paper Prototype to the Wiki, the different scenes of the game. We still need to upload the Help Screen, and the Win and Lose screen. As of right now we still need to add the coding for the buttons on the Help Screen. Also we need to make sure that we put all of the files together, to make the demo. I have learned a lot in Flash. I have never used Flash before until this year. I have learned a lot from my fellow class mates that have been in Globaloria before. Also Mrs. Neal, and Mrs. Leef have helped me out a lot too. This has been a great learning process for me. I am only in this class for half the time of others, so I know that it puts a lot of stress on my classmates, and Mrs. Neal and Mrs. Leef.
All in all I think that my team has worked very well together on this game. We still have some room to improve. But we will cope and work out all the extra work we need to do.

Games

We have been working on our games. Our game demo is due by April 15th. As of right now my team has basically got most of the screens completed. We have the different scenes uploaded to the wiki,and also the Help screen is uploaded. All of the differens screens is uploaded to the wiki. The Help Screen is not uploaded to the team page yet. It will be uploaded soon. The only thing that I know that it needs is the correct coding for the buttons. Shawn and Xavier have been working on the basic coding, and the touch ups. Good job guys. Keep up the good work.

Spring Break

We got one week off for Spring Break.
Anyway, it has been a while since I have updated my blog.
We have been really busy lately. We presented our game ideas to David Lowenstein, Shannon, and Meredith by using WebEx. It was really neat how we could all communicate information over the computer. Well I thought that my team has done exceptionally well with our game. We have a few touch ups to add, but other than that we are moving along pretty well. Keep up the good work everyone.

Working On Game

Today we worked on our games. We have to send in the Paper Prototype by April 1st. We already have it finished. So after that we have to make a game demo. I know that Shawn and Xavier have been working hard on the game. I uploaded the help screen. The only thing that it needs is the coding for the buttons. Other than that I think that we are pretty far along on our game.

Working on Game

Today, Mrs. Leef showed us how to organize our games, by turning the keyframes into folders. I think this will help us. I am trying to work on the games actionscript. We have got alot done!!!! I think we are pretty far along!!

Art Institute

Today we had a lady come from the Art Institute. She told us about all the careers offered at different locations. We got to watch some videos that some of the students had created using graphic design and other elements!! It was pretty sweet!!

Working on Game

We have been working on our game. Ours in doing pretty well. I know that we have some of the screens finished. The only thing that we need added to that is the buttons. Shawn is working on that. I think we also need to look up some facts about recyling. That should be about it!!

Updates!!!

We have been really busy lately!!!!! We have been pushing our game working progress. We need to get a lot done. I have the Help Screen uploaded to the wiki. Now we need to get the codes for the buttons. We have a lot to do, but we can get it done!!!

Presentations

Today we presented our PowerPoints to the class. Mine was on how to add Keyframes and Tweening in Flash. I think that everyone did a good job and met the requirments. Good job everyone!!!! There is still some work to do on our game. I have to finish the Help Screen, and upload it. (thanks to our wonderful technology, I had it typed and for some reason it did not save) I guess I learned a lesson the hard way. Go ahead and upload your stuff to the Wiki, even if you are not completely done!!!
Oh well. I will get it done, with a good attitude!!!!

Game Competition

Today we were told that we can enter our games into a competition. This is for Globaloria. We are going to work as a team and get this mission accomplished. Our game is about Recycling. I think that we will do well in the competition. If my team wins then we each get a laptop with Flash installed on it! GO TEAM CHAOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anway, the judging is done on June 10, so we dont have that long to get it complete, but we can do the impossible!!!

We have been pretty busy lately. We have been working on the LSIC video. Also we have been working on our game designs. I have the helped screen typed, I just need to add a few touch ups. Tomorrow we are supposed to present our Powerpoints to the class. I hope mine goes pretty smooth. Well that is about all that we have done for a little while.

Comment for Homework

I read this post on the wiki pertaining to our game. It said that some games focus on the players beliefs. I agree to that. Our game is about Recycling. Whether or not people recycle is up to them. I think that Recycling is a good thing and I try to recycle plastic bottles and aluminum cans. By doing this it will help save the environment. This will definately help me to stay true to my beliefs. We are trying to design a game that will teach everyone about the worlds needs and the environment. So I agree with that post, that some games do relate to your beliefs. That is what I got out of the post.

Wow.... Forever Since Ive Updated!!!

Well we have been really busy lately. Even though we have had lots of snow days and 2 hr delays, that has not stopped our progress to much in Globaloria. We have been working on the game screens. I did the Help Screen but have not uploaded it yet. Also we have been working on a video for the LSIC. It pertains to school and all the classes offered. It will be pretty sweet when we get it all put together. We have unitl March 22, so lets hope Jack Frost leaves us alone for a little while. Even though I love snow days. (Dont tell Mrs. Leef or Mrs. Neal) LOL.. Just kidding. Well that is all for now.

Busy Week

We have been really busy this week. We have finished our Powerpoints and uploaded them to the Wikis. Also we have been assigned to start working in Flash for our games. I was assigned to do the Help Screen for our game. It will be done Friday and uploaded to our Wiki also. All in all it has been a pretty good week!!!

Two Weeks off From School

We have been off from school for two weeks. We finally went back on Friday. But I hear that we are supposed to get hit with more snow this coming week. So who knows?? Anyway, we have still been trying to finish up on the Powerpoints that we started. Now I dont know when we will get to present them since we have been out so much.
We will just have to see what Winter Brings us again!!

Let It Snow!!!!!

Wow!!! We have been slammed with snow!!! We got the whole week out this week. I expect us to get some of the next week of too, because if the weather man is correct, we may be getting another major snow storm. Anyway, I am just about done with my PowerPoint. The only problem is that whenever I went in and tried to play the videos that I found off the Internet, they would not play. I have no clue why, But thanks to Mrs. Leef, she was going to try and see what was wrong with it. She is such a technical genius anyway, so maybe she can solve my problem, if not then I will have to start over. So we will see what Jack Frost brings us and if we will ever go to school again. Hopefully so, so I can see if the technological Genius has made my life so much easier. Thanks again Mrs. Leef!!!
P.S.- Mrs. Neal if pretty technologically savvy also!!!!
Let it Snow Some More- we only got about a foot, another foot or two wont hurt us!!!

Haiti

I read a post on Mrs. Neal's blog. It was about not taking everything for granted during our lifetime and living life to the fullest. I totally agree with Mrs. Neal on every aspect of here viewpoint. She created a game that is really fun and it is about how life is in Haiti. We need to try and help those people in every aspect of our life.

More Snow!!!

Well we have been finishing up our Powerpoints. We were going to start presenting them on Friday, but we got more snow and didnt have school Friday or Monday. Hopefully another snow storm will hit Tuesday as planned!!!

Power Point

We have been trying to work on the Power Point that includes things you need to know about Flash. Anyway, we have not gotten very far because of all the technology issues. But all we can do is keep trying!!!

Assignment for the next few days

We came up with a list of things that we thought were important to know about Flash. As a group we went through and decided who was the most up to date and let them choose two things off the list to create a tutorial about. We have to create a Powerpoint that teaches people about the things in Flash. I chose Tweening and how to add Keyframes. These will not be that difficult to do a Powerpoint on. These Powerpoints are due Thursday.

The Question that we are Supposed to answer today is....

What is your favorite game and why, then follow up with you how your game is going to be incorporating those components.

My favorite game is Yahtzee. Me and my family play it all the time. The object is to try and get the highest score out of everyone. If you can get a Yahtzee (which means all of the dice that you roll all land on the same number) then you get 50 points. For each one after that you get 100 points bonus. Most of the time it is the hardest one to get and usually if you can get that one then sometimes you have a better chance at winning. I really enjoy playing this game.

This week we have been busy. We finished our video and we have been updating our blogs and wikis. Also we have been trying to get our game ideas started.
